Alloy 317L or UNS S31703 is a molybdenum-bearing Austenitic Stainless Steel. This is a low carbon grade that offers resistance to sensitization during welding. It provides excellent resistance to chemical attack as compared to the conventional Chromium-Nickel Austenitic Stainless Steels. Alloy 317L provides resistance against higher creep, stress-to-rupture, and many thermal processes. It has a tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
